What If You Spoke to Yourself Like Someone You Love?

We all make mistakes. In fact, you’re going to make plenty more in your life - and that’s not a bad thing!

Mistakes are there to teach you, to guide you, to sharpen who you are. So why punish yourself for learning? That doesn’t make sense, does it?

Think about a parent watching their baby learn to walk. The baby falls. And what does the parent do? They don’t shout. They don’t criticize. They clap, they smile, and they say with the softest, most loving voice: “Come on, you can do it… try again!”

That’s the energy you need when you talk to yourself. The energy of encouragement, of patience, of love. Because when you speak to yourself with that same gentle motivation, something shifts. You feel lighter, stronger, and ready to try again.

So here’s the truth: you don’t need to feel bad when you’re trying to grow. You deserve to feel good, proud even, simply because you’re improving, step by step.

Train your pep talk. Practice talking to yourself like that parent: motivational, kind, uplifting.

And do it not only when you fail, but even without a reason,  just to remind yourself you’re worthy, you’re trying, and you’re on your way.

Make it a habit to look for three good things in your day. Maybe it’s that first sip of coffee in the morning, a kind word from a colleague, or the sunset you catch on your way home. Three little things.

And when you find them in your work, in your morning, in your afternoon… something powerful happens. You start to train your mind to focus on what lifts you up, instead of what pulls you down.

The more you notice the good, the better you’ll feel. And the better you feel, the easier it becomes to face challenges with energy, clarity, and even joy.

So try it today. Three good things. Simple. Powerful. Transforming.

And if you’d like someone to walk beside you while you practice that kinder inner voice, I’d be honored to guide you. Coaching can give you the support and encouragement you deserve. When you’re ready, let’s take that next step together.
